The Pipeline

When you request something, six services work together to find it, download it securely, and make it available to stream, usually in under 10 minutes.

Seerrrequest

You find a movie or show and hit request. Seerr checks what's already in the library, then routes new requests to the right automation tool. Radarr handles movies, Sonarr handles TV.

Sonarr & Radarrautomate

These manage the entire lifecycle. Searching for releases, selecting the best quality match against custom profiles, sending downloads to the client, then renaming and organising files once complete.

Prowlarrindex

The indexer manager. Prowlarr connects to dozens of sources and feeds results into Sonarr and Radarr. When one source goes down, others pick up the slack. The more indexers, the better the selection.

qBittorrentdownload

The download client. Receives requests from Sonarr/Radarr, pulls the files, and seeds back to ratio. Stalled or dead torrents are cleaned up automatically.

Gluetun VPNencrypt

qBittorrent's entire network stack is tunnelled through Gluetun. An always-on VPN container. If the VPN drops, downloads stop immediately. No traffic ever touches the bare connection.

Jellyfinstream

Once Sonarr or Radarr finish processing, the file lands in the Jellyfin library. Renamed, in the right folder, with metadata and artwork pulled automatically. Open the app and it's there.

All download traffic runs through an encrypted VPN tunnel. If the VPN drops, the kill switch stops everything. Zero exposure to the ISP.

FAQ

How do I watch stuff?
Go to cowensjf.com/jellyfin in any browser, or download the Jellyfin app on your phone/tablet/smart TV. Sign in with your provided account. That's it.
How do I request a movie or show?
Head to request.cowensjf.com and search for what you want. Hit request, and it'll be downloaded and added to Jellyfin automatically. Usually within a few minutes.
How do I listen to music?
Go to music.cowensjf.com in a browser, or use an app like Substreamer (iOS) or Symfonium (Android). Connect using the server address and your login.
Can I download stuff for offline?
Yes. The Jellyfin app lets you sync movies and shows to your device. Navidrome-compatible apps like Substreamer also support offline music downloads.
Does it work outside the house?
Yes. Everything is accessible from anywhere with an internet connection. It's all routed through an encrypted Cloudflare tunnel, so it works the same whether you're at home or abroad.
What devices can I use?
Basically anything. Jellyfin has apps for iOS, Android, Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku, Samsung/LG smart TVs, and works in any web browser. If it has a screen, it'll probably work.
Is this legal / safe?
All download traffic is routed through an encrypted VPN with a kill switch. Nothing is visible to the ISP. The streaming side is accessed through Cloudflare's encrypted tunnel with no open ports. Your connection to the server is always encrypted.
